About
About Raquette Lakehouse
A real Adirondack camp, cared for like one, in one of the most storied corners of the park.
A Cabin Built for the Lake
Raquette Lakehouse is everything people picture when they say "Adirondack camp": dark-stained board-and-batten siding under a green metal roof, knotty pine inside from the floors to the cathedral ceiling, and a stone fireplace at the center of it all. Old-camp furniture, quilts, and a hutch full of camp dishes make it feel lived-in and welcoming from the moment you open the door.
It is not a hotel and it is not trying to be. It is a place to cook a big breakfast, spend the day on the water or the trail, and come back to the deck as the light goes gold behind the trees.
Why Raquette Lake
Raquette Lake is one of the largest natural lakes in the Adirondack Park and one of its most historic. This is where the Great Camp style was born, where the Vanderbilts and Morgans came to rough it in style, and where steamboats once met the train at the water's edge. Today the hamlet is small, quiet and friendly — a general store on the water, a couple of marinas, and nearly a hundred miles of wild shoreline to explore.
